Care to Help – Your Job as a DSP
As a DSP – caregiver you will assist individuals with autism, cerebral palsy, Down Syndrome and other disabilities. You’ll help with everyday activities such as:
· Preparing meals
· Helping them eat
· Talking with them
· Playing games or watching movies together

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid Ohio driving license and eligibility to be an approved company driver
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare and Licensure regulations preferable
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities preferable
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • 1-year experience as a case manager

    Main Responsibilities

    • Coordinates all aspects of individuals vocational/adult day supports programming
    • Provides technical and direct supervisory assistance in planning, evaluating, monitoring, developing and implementing individuals programming
    • Reviews on-going programs to determine if and where change is required in accordance with current individual assessments
    • MUI/UIR procedures and reports
    • Conducts or assists in training programs and meetings
    • Takes lead during Medicaid and Licensure surveys
    • Communicates with Interdisciplinary team on a regular basis to ensure quality of care for the individuals
    • Trains and guides staff in areas related to individuals’ programs and services
    • Writes, completes, prepares correspondence, reports, forms, and maintains necessary required records and files
    • Monitor and ensure satisfaction of individuals
    • Establish environment that fosters positivity, and growth for staff and individuals
    • Conduct staff trainings
    • Participates on interdisciplinary team procedures
    • Acts as a role model for DSPs and DSP Supervisors in areas of interaction with individuals, programming and teamwork
    • Attends necessary meetings with other departments
    • Any other duties as assigned

    Minimum Qualifications

      • High School Diploma or GED
      • Minimum 2 years experienced working with adults with developmental disabilities
      • Supervisory experience preferred
      • Must be eligible to be an approved company driver and med passer
      • Proficient in the ability to use a computer
      • Able to function as a team leader and manage different personality types
      • Ability to work independently and delegate tasks as needed
        Effective written and verbal communication skills

    Main Responsibilities

      • Provide direction to DSP Supervisors and up to 20 DSPs
      • Overseeing the staff and supervisor schedule
      • Coordinating and managing medical appointments
      • Covering open shifts as needed
        Mentoring and training staff
      • Implementing policies and procedures
      • Maintaining on-call duties

    Minimum Qualifications

      • Competent in basic banking and budgeting procedures
      • Knowledge of Group Home (ICF) operational procedures
      • Basic computer literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
      • Must be eligible to become a company driver and med passer

    Main Responsibilities

      • Provide direct supervision to direct support professionals
      • Ensure that the home meets licensure and Medicaid guidelines and standards
      • Responsible for the staffing, scheduling and training of employees in the home
      • Ability to demonstrate and model person centered planning techniques
      • Generation of reports, participation in team meetings, maintaining house and individual bank accounts and completing payroll
      • Maintain on-call duties

    NEW: Day Program Nurse


    Minimum Qualifications

      • Graduate of accredited school of nursing and State of Ohio License, current with required CEUs
      • Verification of pharmacology course (NAPNES-OPNES)
      • Valid Ohio driving license and eligibility to be an approved company driver
      • Effective written and verbal communication skills
      • Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare and Licensure regulations preferable
      • Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities preferable

    Main Responsibilities

      • Delegation of nursing tasks only in accordance with the Board of Nursing that specifically addressed delegation under the direction of the Registered Nurse
      • Responsible for training of DSPs the skills needed to perform a selected task according to the rules of Board of Nursing and DoDD laws/rules
      • Responsible to provide supervision and professional nursing care to the individuals under the direction of the Registered Nurse
      • Responsible for nursing quality control measures at the Day Program.
      • Administration of medication as required
      • Implement measures to promote a safe environment for all individuals
      • Collects data and provides written input for individual ISP meetings
      • Responsible for checking medication administration records
      • Travel to different locations

    Main Responsibilities

      • Developing ISPs for each individual
      • Coordinating all aspects of the ISP services to ensure quality services
      • Providing supportive service and active treatment for individuals
      • Coordinating and developing community resources
      • Serving as a role model, mentor, and teacher of staff; supervising and measuring staff performance
      • Creating an environment that fosters supported routines for individuals with developmental disabilities

    Main Responsibilities

      • Direct care and providing support services for individuals
      • Planning activities and community outings
      • Participating in ISP meetings and implementing services as written
      • Monitoring documentation
      • Data entry
      • Serving as a role model to integrate supported routines into daily living
      • Other duties as designated
